Giving the legs a rest – Push Up Variation for Hockey Training

Hi Gang,

I know many of you are well into your try-outs and training camps, so I figured your legs would be pretty tired.  Today I am going to give your legs a break and give you a quick little bodyweight push up variation that not only builds nice triceps, but (and here is where it ties into hockey training) it also fires up the core and the hip flexors.

You probably know that I am not a fan of training for appearance, so I don’t really care what your triceps look like, but I do want you to be able to stabilize your core as you shove your opponent off the puck in the corners, so this way I get what I want – performance on the ice, and you get what you want – sweet looking triceps.

If you can do 20 perfect ones – great job!
