Archive for Stretches for Ice Hockey

Hi Gang,

As promised here is video of a complete off-ice workout I took some of my pro hockey players through earlier this month.  It took longer than I thought so I have split it into two videos – I will finish editing the rest of the video and post it early next week.  For now check out part on of the pro hockey training off-ice workout.

Cheers,
Maria

Hi Gang,

Check out this video showing you a 3-step approach to improving hip function in hockey goalies and skaters.  Do you ever get an achy back when you play hockey?  We often think automatically that our back must be weak, but it could be that your hip is not functioning properly and this is causing back to work harder than it should.  I am pretty sure there are a couple of exercises in this video that you have never seen before – and at least one that you will not want to do at the gym!

Maria

Hi Gang,

Just got back from the Perform Better 3-Day Summit in Chicago, IL.  What a great conference – if you train hockey players, this is a must-attend event!  I learned some new things, learned some old things and met some great people.  Special thanks to those of you who took the time to come up and say “Hi” – it was my pleasure to meet you!

I want to share with you one of the most exciting things I picked up over the weekend.  Check out this video below and try this stretch.  It is an essential stretch for hockey goalies and skaters alike.   Your glutes get a lot of work, so they need a nice stretch to keep them happy.

Stay tuned for more breakthroughs from the Perform Better Summit!

Cheers,
Maria
